In Hong Kong, all private cars that are six years or older must undergo an annual inspection at a designated vehicle testing centre before their license renewal to ensure compliance with the Road Traffic Regulations (Chapter 374). Owners do not need to wait until the license expires; they can renew their license four months before the vehicle registration certificate expires. At that time, customers must bring their vehicle registration documents (license book) to the service location. The service includes a comprehensive pre-MOT inspection, payment of the government-designated vehicle testing centre inspection fee (HK$585), and payment of the government inspection fee of HK$585.
